A very warm welcome to you as you visit the website of the USS Ark Royal, NCC-7991.

 Star Trek fandom means something different to every one of us, and it is that diversity and mutual tolerance that first brought me to SFI* and the Ark Royal.

In the Trek world, we are based around the time of the original series movies, and our ship is part of the 20th Fleet**. The ship is an Excelsior Class Explorer, but we have sufficient firepower to hold our own in a fight! The crew is supported by our Marine Strike Group - the 380th (The Unit). You can see a little of the history of our ship and it’s illustrious predecessors elsewhere on this site.

In the non-Trek world, we are a correspondence chapter of the largest Star Trek fan club in the world. Based in Derbyshire, our membership is drawn from across the UK and beyond. We meet up on FaceBook, chat sites, our forum and have occasional meets—all for fun. We have a strong ethos of charitable giving and fund-raising. As part of the 20th Fleet, we join together with the crew of the other ships in the region for various events throughout the year.
